The Vanier Spirits and Briercrest Christian Academy Cougars both scored big wins on Thursday night in the Moose Jaw High School Senior Volleyball League.

The second place Spirits handed the first place Peacock Toilers just their second loss of the season, winning in three straight sets (25-23, 25-23, 25-19) on Thursday.

The win puts Vanier at 6-2 this season, while Peacock drops to 8-2.

The Cougars were able to keep pace with the Spirits, beating the Cornerstone Falcons in three straight sets (25-10, 25-8, 25-19). 

BCA sits in third place at 6-3 this season. The loss drops the Falcons down to 2-8 in the senior girls league.

Vanier and BCA will meet in a key game coming up on Monday night in Caronport.

There was just one game on the senior boys' schedule on Thursday with the Peacock Toilers returning to the win column with a four-set win over the BCA Cougars in Caronport.

Peacock scored over 20 points in all four sets (25-22, 23-25, 25-15, 25-17) on their way to the win.

The Toilers are now 2-6, while BCA drops to 1-7 this season.

The Cougars will host the first place Vanier Vikings on Monday night, while the league returns to the court for a full slate on Tuesday.
