Hockey fans in Moose Jaw and Regina get an early Christmas treat this weekend as the Warriors and Pats meet for a home-and-home to finish off the first half.

"The rivalry is pretty big between us and the Pats, so the guys are excited to play these two games and hopefully we get two wins and go home and have a good Christmas break," said Warriors leading scorer Tristin Langan.

The Warriors head into the Queen City on Friday night and then they host the Pats for Teddy Bear Toss Night on Saturday at Mosaic Place.

Defenceman Jett Woo said that the Warriors are heading into the two-game set focused on closing out of the first half on a high note.

"These two games are the biggest games of the season so far," said Woo. "Anytime you play Regina, especially for the Teddy Bear Toss game, it's exciting, so we've just got to stay on track and keep going."

The Warriors are looking to bounce back after dropping three of their last four games. The Pats have lost nine straight games entering this weekend after falling 3-2 in Swift Current on Wednesday.

20-year-old defenceman Dalton Hamaliuk said the Warriors need to keep pushing through the end of the weekend.

"It's going to be really important if you get a couple of wins here, it makes it easier to start off the second half," said Hamaliuk.

Saturday night is the annual Teddy Bear, and Toque, Toss for the Warriors' organization with the donations going to local children through the Salvation Army.

Langan scored the big goal last season. He said it would be exciting to do it again, "Hopefully I can get one, it's going to be on my birthday too, so it would be nice," he said. "It's special to score that goal."

The Warriors and Pats face-off at the Brandt Centre at 7 p.m. on Friday night and then at Mosaic Place at 7 p.m. on Saturday. The Pre-Game Show is on the air both nights at 6:40 p.m. on Country 100.

Moose Jaw is off after Saturday's game until hosting the Swift Current Broncos on Dec. 27.
