The Moose Jaw U13A White Warriors are hoping to get some game action in eventually this season.

While they've been working on skill development for the past few practices, Warriors head coach Cody Nidesh said they are starting to work on some different things in the coming weeks.

“We’ve started some power skating with Kim Casavant, and now we’re getting into more skill development for the next little while,” Nidesh said. “We’re going to be hammering in skill development and trying to improve on the areas we need to improve on.

Casavant has been working with U11 and U13 teams in Moose Jaw Minor Hockey.

Nidesh recognizes that this year isn't close to normal yet.

“Its a different year, so we’re just adjusting and getting ready for where things could possibly go,” he said. “The SHA made the announcement last week, obviously we’re hoping for games before Christmas. We’re adjusting on the fly just like everybody else. We took the first couple of practices to put the kids through some drills and evaluate where what we need to focus on.”

The White Warriors were 8-11-3 in the regular season last year in Hockey Regina. Teams aren't sure when the province will allow them to play, but Hockey Regina will have a manager's meeting Oct. 17.
