Hockey is back again, as the exhibition season started on home ice for a pair of Moose Jaw's minor hockey teams.

The U15 AA Warriors lost 4-2 to the visiting Swift Current Broncos at the Bert Hunt Arena, and Warriors head coach Todd Cole was happy with what he saw from his team

“For the first game these kids have played in five months, six months, I was pretty happy with how they played,” he said. “There are some small things that we need to improve on obviously, but it’s all correctable stuff. Some it’s mental stuff, and some of it is just physical, and it’s just conditioning. So I’m pretty excited for what we have going forward.”

Cole said they had a lot of unknowns coming into the season, including not knowing if they were going to be able to play games.

“We always thought it was going to be December, but here we are in the middle of October and we’re playing games already,” he said. “We’re just going to have to accelerate in the things we need to work on.”

Kierin Osberg and Chance Cole scored the goals for the Warriors. Casson Silbernagel got the start in net for Moose Jaw.

The Warriors' next action in the pre-season is unknown but Cole is looking to set up a road exhibition game next weekend for his team within their mini-league bubble.
