The Moose Jaw Warriors will induct three new members into the Conexus Warriors and Legends Hall of Fame coming up in February.

The organization unveiled the 2017 induction class on Thursday with goaltender Jason Fitzsimmons, forward Rob Reimer and builder Toby Tobias joining the other greats in Warriors’ history.

All three inductees were a part of the franchise during the same era.

Fitzsimmons spent three seasons in the Warriors’ crease from 1989-92, playing in 132 games with a 54-61-4 record.  He’s fourth all-time in games played by a goaltender in Warriors’ history and is fifth in wins.

The Regina product was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in 1991 and went on to play eight seasons of professional hockey in the American Hockey League and East Coast Hockey League.

Fitzsimmons served four seasons as an assistant coach with the South Carolina Stingrays and was head coach from 2002-07.  He stepped down as a coach to join the Washington Capitals as a pro scout.

Reimer scored 107 goals and 245 points over 250 games with the Warriors from 1987-91.  His best season came in 90-91 when he scored 45 goals and 99 points in 63 games.

The Neville Saskatchewan product sits fifth all-time in Warriors’ scoring and ninth all-time in both goals and assists.

Reimer is credited with scoring one of the biggest goals in team history when he scored the game-winning goal in the fourth overtime to beat the Swift Current Broncos during the 1991 WHL Playoffs.

After graduating from the WHL, Reimer played one season of professional hockey in the AHL and ECHL before obtaining an education degree at the University of Regina and going on to teach at Thom Collegiate and Regina Christian School.

Reimer earned a Master’s Degree from Trinity Western University and has been a pastor at the Regina Apostolic Church for the last 13 years.  He his wife, Jocelyn, also owned Reimer Custom Homes and Commercial Inc.

Tobias served as President on the Moose Jaw Warriors’ Board of Directors in 1991 and played a key role in the financial restructuring of the organization to keep the Warriors in Moose Jaw during the late 80s.

The Hall of Fame Weekend will be held on Feb. 23-24.  The Induction ceremony will be held at the Heritage on the Friday night followed by the Warriors hosting the Regina Pats on Saturday night at Mosaic Place.

Tickets for the induction ceremony are available now at the Warriors’ office.
