There's no rest for the Moose Jaw Warriors.

After sweeping their three-in-three over the weekend, the Warriors had Monday off before returning to the ice on Tuesday night to host the Red Deer Rebels at Mosaic Place.

The Warriors enter the meeting with the Rebels riding a three-game winning streak, while Red Deer has lost five straight.

Warriors forward Justin Almeida said they're expecting a hungry Rebels team in this game.

"Red Deer is battling for a playoff spot, so they're playing desperate and when you play a desperate team, it's always hard for your team… we need to be ready for it," said Almeida.

Moose Jaw currently sits 11 points clear of the Brandon Wheat Kings for third place in the East Division with 10 games remaining in the regular season. They're also just eight points back of the Saskatoon Blades for second with two games in hand.

Despite sitting comfortably in a playoff spot, Almeida said this is no time for the Warriors to let up.

"Just because we're in a spot doesn't mean that we don't want to be better, every game we want to get better and Tuesday is a stepping stone," said the WHL's assist leader.

"Playoffs are just around the corner and we want to put ourselves in a good spot for home ice advantage in the playoffs and we want to be playing the right way going into playoffs so that we can take off on the right foot."

The Warriors scored seven power-play goals over their three-win weekend, including potting three in Sunday's win over Kootenay and Friday’s victory in Swift Current.

Moose Jaw's power play is now the top-ranked unit in the Western Hockey League, scoring at 28.8 percent this season.

"We've been playing together all year, we have a lot of skill on both power plays, so it's nice when you have space and time and all the guys on our power play, [Brayden] Tracey, [Tristin] Langan, [Josh] Brook, [Jett] Woo and myself, when we have time with the puck, it's easier for us and when we're all together, it's pretty good," said Almeida.

With four games in five days, managing themselves has been key for the Warriors. Almeida said the team has done a good job of making sure they're ready to play each game.

"It's pretty hard when you have awkward game times too, we had 2:30 on Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday against Kootenay and your body isn't used to playing that early, that's usually your nap time for a game day, so they were definitely hard but we did a good job getting up for them," said Almeida.

The Warriors and Rebels face-off at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night at Mosaic Place. You can catch all the action live on Country 100, starting with the Pre-Game Show at 6:40 p.m.
