Don't count this year's Moose Jaw Warriors' team out of a game.

The Warriors mounted a pair of third-period comebacks this past weekend, finishing with a 4-3 win against Edmonton on Friday and a 3-2 win over Lethbridge on Saturday at Mosaic Place.

Moose Jaw has now won nine of 14 one-goal games this season, including four in overtime or shootouts.

Saturday was also the second time this season that the Warriors have scored twice in a game with their net empty.

"It shows that our guys understand the plan, they persevere and they compete when the chips are on the line, it's a good sign," said Warriors head coach Tim Hunter.

"Nobody wants to be in that position to have to pull their goalie and try to get the goals, but as a team, we pull together and get the goals," said 18-year-old defenceman Jett Woo.

"Positive for our team is huge."

There has been a lot of positives recently as Saturday's win made it five in a row for the Warriors, who also have points in seven straight games and nine out of their last ten.

Hunter credits the Warriors' leadership group for making sure that the team continues to push no matter what struggles they may have during a game.

"[Dalton] Hamaliuk, [Jett] Woo, [Josh] Brook, [Justin] Almeida, [Ryan] Peckford and Tristin Langan for sure, those guys all drive the engine here, they compete hard and they dig in," said Hunter. "You sprinkle in some good hockey from Brayden Tracey, Dan Stepanov, [Tate] Popple, these guys all stepped and played hard tonight, so it was a team effort."

Tracey has shown a flair for the dramatic this season, scoring the game-tying goal in the final seconds against Medicine Hat last month and picking up his first career overtime winner against Lethbridge on Saturday.

The 17-year-old rookie forward said the Warriors have confidence in themselves that they're never out of a game.

"We don't quit, we've come back from two goals [down] a couple of times now and it definitely feels good," said Tracey. "Tim tells us what to do, we go out there and follow the game plan and it's worked out."

The Warriors have had a fairly light schedule so far this season, but that changes this week as they head on the road for four games in five nights in the Central Division, starting on Wednesday against the Kootenay Ice.

Moose Jaw will be in Edmonton on Friday, Red Deer on Saturday, and then they finish the trek in Calgary on Sunday.
