Little mistakes are costing the Moose Jaw Warriors big right now.

With a tied game in the third period, the Warriors were called for two delay-of-game penalties in a span of 32 seconds and the Saskatoon Blades capitalized to take the win in Game 3 at Mosaic Place.

Those little mistakes have been the story for the series for the Warriors and they find themselves down 3-0 in the best-of-seven first-round series.

"It sucks to lose that game, but we had a very good chance winning and just a couple of unlucky bounces," said Warriors captain Josh Brook after Moose Jaw's 3-2 loss in Game 3 on Tuesday night.

The Warriors and Blades traded goals throughout the game, but it was Max Gerlach's fourth of the series on a five-on-three power-play with 4:21 left in the game that ended up being the difference.

18-year-old goalie Adam Evanoff was fantastic for the Warriors, making 37 saves in the loss.

"The good thing about it is we're that close, we've just got to apply ourselves a little bit more here and we'll win a game and then that will change the series," said Warriors head coach Tim Hunter.

"They're the favourite, they're supposed to beat us in four straight, that's what their manager talked about, well we're not going to go without a fight, we'll be ready to play again tomorrow night, a little harder from the get-go and see what happens."

The Warriors will be facing elimination on Wednesday night when they host the Blades for Game 4. The feeling around the Warriors' locker room after the game was that they're still right in the series.

"We've got to have the best game of the season, everyone has to tomorrow," said Brook. "It's do or die and we're going to bring it tomorrow, we're going to be ready and we're going to win this game."

Moose Jaw started slow in the first period, but Evanoff made some big saves to keep the Warriors in the game. Saskatoon would get a break just before the end of the first when Kyle Crnkovic scored his first of the playoffs to make it 1-0.

Keenan Taphorn would give the Warriors and Mosaic Place some life with 8:31 left in the second period as he snapped in his first of the playoffs off the rush.

The Blades found a way to quash the Warriors' momentum as Kirby Dach scored his second of the series with 2:45 left in the second to make it a 2-1 game after two.

A fight between 17-year-old Cameron Sterling and Saskatoon’s Riley McKay sparked the Warriors early in the third period leading to Carson Denomie tying the game 6:27 into the frame.

Gerlach continued his big series with the game-winning goal on the power play late in the third.

The Warriors pulled their goalie and Brayden Tracey, who returned to the lineup from injury, hit the post with just one second left in regulation.

"It's frustrating, you always want to come out on top and we feel a couple of these games we've played good enough to win and just the bounces haven't come," said Denomie, who finished with a goal and two points in the loss.

Tate Popple added two assists for the Warriors, while Dach had a goal and two points and Nolan Kneen finished two assists for the Blades in the win.

The Warriors and Blades will meet for Game 4 on Wednesday night at Mosaic Place. The Pre-Game Show is on the air at 6:40 p.m. on Country 100.
