Regina scored two goals 13 seconds apart in the second period and went on to hand the Moose Jaw Warriors a 4-1 loss Friday at the Subway WHL Hub.

Moose Jaw established a quick pace in the first period as they raced up the ice to go on the attack.  They also did a great job creating extra attack time by developing turnovers in the Regina zone, which led to a 14-9 advantage on the shot clock.

However, Regina picked up the game's first goal at 8:02 when Cole Dubinsky snuck a shot past goalie Brett Mirwald while working on a Pats power-play.

In the second period, Moose took back-to-back penalties and the Pats capitalized.  At 15:30, Layton Feist found the back of the net for a power-play goal, and then 13 seconds later, Drew Englot scored to give Regina a 3-0 lead.

1:43 into the third period, Regina took back-to-back penalties which resulted in a Warriors two-man advantage.

Moose Jaw had three on the 5-on-3 but was not able to score, and then when it went to a 5-on-4, Regina’s Zach Smith was able to score a shorthanded goal to extend their lead.

Late in the period, the Warriors’ Cory King scored his second of the season to break up the shutout bid, but that is all the offence Moose Jaw would manage.

Warriors starter Brett Mirwald allowed three goals on 20 shots and was pulled in the second period.  Boston Bilous allowed one goal on four shots.  Regina goalie Roddy Ross made 30 saves.

Moose Jaw was 0-for-5 on the power-play and 1-for-3 on the penalty kill.
