Friday night, the Moose Jaw Warriors are in a place they've had difficulty winning this season - Mosaic Place.

The team hasn't played at home in three weeks and hasn't won since a 5-4 overtime win over Kamloops Dec. 10. The Warriors are home Friday to Swift Current in the Talk Today night, for the Canadian Mental Health Association.

The team has had a hard week of practice at Red Knight Arena since getting back from their U.S. Division road trip.

“I think just trying to eliminate complicated stuff that we don’t need,” said forward/defenceman Tate Popple talked about what they've been working on this week. “Just trying to play simple. When you get the puck in, make one play and then get it on net. Drive the net and hopefully something will happen there.”

Popple and the team have been placing a level of importance to these games.

“It’s big for us,” he said. “We have a really tough schedule comign up here so I think it would be good to start it off on the right foot.”

The Warriors are home Friday to Swift Current, as well as playing Saturday in Swift Current and Sunday in Prince Albert

The Warriors have also announced that forward Jagger Firkus has joined the team for the remainder of the season. A 2019 fourth round draft pick, Firkus had 34 points in 30 games for midget AAA Lloydminster this season, and a goal in five games with the Warriors as an affiliate player.
