Moose Jaw doubled the Swift Current Broncos 4-2 Saturday at the Credit Union Plex, sweeping a weekend series between the two long-time rivals.

Like Friday’s game, the Warriors had good energy to start the game.  They were creating turnovers inside the Broncos zone and creating good looks at the Swift Current net.

Swift Current made good adjustments from the night before and was able to generate quality attack time in the Moose Jaw zone.

The Broncos outshot the Warriors 12-5 in the period, and were able to open the scoring just before the 5-minute mark when Aiden Bulych scored on a goal-mouth scramble.

Moose Jaw responded with eight minutes left in the period.

Logan Doust created a turnover at the Broncos blueline and then dished the puck to Eric Alarie on the right-wing.  Alarie came down the wall and then made a backhand pass through the seam to Doust in the left circle where he scored his ninth of the season.

Just over a minute later, Moose Jaw was back on the attack.

Martin Lang led a rush on the left-wing across the Broncos line.  Lang made the pass to the Tate Popple on the right-wing, but unfortunately, his shot missed the net.

However, the puck bounced to the left goal line where Ryder Korczak was able to push the puck past Isaac Poulter, his 17th of the season gave Moose Jaw a 2-1 lead.

Swift Current came out hard in the second period, and approaching the 5-minute mark, Kye Buchanan was able to jump on a loose puck on the right side of the Warriors net and tied the game at two.

Moose Jaw continued to press throughout the remainder of the second period.  They outshot the Broncos 17-12, and with many of those being quality chances inside home plate.

At 7:22, Ryder Korczak fought the puck away from the Broncos behind the Swift Current net, and then set up Tate Popple between the circles where he snapped in his third goal of the weekend and 10th of the season.

Working on the power-play with under four minutes in the frame.  Logan Doust had the puck on top of the right circle and then moved it to the goal line for Eric Alarie.  Alarie then made a nice cross-ice pass to Calder Anderson at the bottom of the left circle where he scored his fourth of the season to give Moose Jaw a two-goal lead.

In the third period, both teams put ten shots on net but they were not able to add to their goal totals, and the Warriors skated away with a 4-2 win.

Tate Popple, Logan Doust, and Ryder Korczak finished with a goal and two points each, Eric Alarie picked up two assists and Boston Bilous made 32 saves.

The Warriors wrap up a busy weekend Sunday with a trip to Prince Albert to take on the Raiders.  Coverage on Country 100 begins at 5:40 pm with the PreGame Show.
