The Moose Jaw Warriors added some key experience to their roster with overage goaltender Bailey Brkin.

Brkin, 20, played last year with the Spokane Chiefs, getting 27 regular season wins and helping them get to the Western Conference finals last season.

The Warriors have been looking for a veteran goaltender since Adam Evanoff had off-season surgery and won’t be back for several weeks. Warriors general manager Alan Millar picked up Brkin as a free agent.

Right now, Millar said Brkin and Jackson Berry will split the home and home series this weekend with the Wheat Kings.

Goaltender Brett Mirwald who had been playing with the Warriors in the pre-season has been assigned to the Saskatoon Blazers of the Saskatoon Midget AAA Hockey League.
