After three years out of the playoffs, there is a hunger for the post season inside the Moose Jaw Warrior office and in the stands.  With the first half of the season behind them, the Tribe is nicely entrenched in a post-season position heading into the first half break.

The Warriors sit third in the East Division with a 17-12-4-and-1 record, just four points back of Prince Albert for second place.

General manager Alan Millar says the team has done a good job of overcoming adversity in the first half.

"It's like anything in junior hockey, there are going to be ups and downs. I think we've played well, we've gotten better, we've been competitive and we grinded out some points on the US swing that I thought was important."

Head Coach Tim Hunter agrees, saying bit by bit, the team is meeting the challenges that the coaching staff are setting for them.

"We've come a long way on playing a 60 minute game and that was the challenge in the beginning and we're starting to complete through the line up for 60 minutes." said Hunter. "Another challenge was winning on the road. We're .500 on the road right now and that was one of the challenges that I laid down for our team."

Along with playing a complete game, goaltending has emerged as a strong point for the team and Hunter says they have confidence in both goalies that they will come through when the team is in a tight spot, saying they view their goalies as 1a and 1b, not a starter and a backup.

Both Zack Sawchenko and Brody Willms are in the top 20 for goals against average and the top 13 for save percentage.  In fact,  Sawchenko is fourth with a save percentage of .917.

The Warriors are back on the ice on Sunday in Swift Current for the start to the second half of the WHL season and will be back at Mosaic Place New Year's Eve when they host Medicine Hat.
