The Christmas break is over and it’s back to work for the Moose Jaw Warriors as they hit the road to kick-off the second half.

The Warriors will be travelling to Swift Current to face the Broncos at the Credit Union Iplex on Sunday afternoon.

Moose Jaw heads into the second half sitting in third place in the WHL’s East Division with a 17-12-4-1 record, which has them four points back of the Prince Albert Raiders for second in the division.

The Tribe also has a four-point cushion on the Regina Pats, who hold down the first wild card spot.

The Warriors will be without captain Brayden Point to open the second half as he takes part in the World Junior Hockey Championship with Team Canada.  Point hasn’t appeared in a game with the Warriors since Nov. 17, but they’ve gone 7-6-3-0 without him so far.

Jiri Smejkal is also at the World Juniors, while Brett Howden missed the final two games before the break with a shoulder injury.

The Warriors will open with back-to-back road games, heading to Brandon on Tuesday before they host the Medicine Hat Tigers on New Year’s Eve.

You can catch all the action between the Warriors and Broncos on Sunday afternoon with Western Nissan Warriors Hockey on Country 100, starting with the Pre-Game Show at 3:40pm.
