The Moose Jaw Warriors picked up their 24th road win on Friday night, setting a new single-season franchise record for road wins, as they downed the Swift Current Broncos, 6-1, at the Credit Union IPlex.

Justin Almeida had one goal and four points to lead the way for the Warriors, pushing his season total to 108 points. Keenan Taphorn had two goals, while Danill Stepanov and Josh Brook also chipped in with a goal and two points each.

Space was tight throughout the first period, as the teams were able to break-up plays which limited the quality scoring chances.

On the penalty kill with under nine minutes left in the period, Almeida intercepted a Swift Current pass along the Warriors' blue-line, raced up the ice on a breakaway and put the puck between the legs of goalie Riley Lamb, his 31st of the year and fourth shorthanded goal, giving Moose Jaw a 1-0 lead.

Swift Current started the second period on the power-play, but wasn’t able to generate much offence and shortly after the Warriors got back to even-strength, Yegor Buyalski led an odd-man rush up the ice and passed the puck to Carson Denomie driving the net where he scored his seventh of the season.

Under four minutes later, at 6:19, Brook had the puck at the Broncos right line and made a cross-ice pass to Almeida inside the left circle and he found a seam to make a pass to Keenan Taphorn on the right side of the Bronco net where he directed in his 15th of the season.

Moose Jaw picked up a number of power-plays in the back half of the second and with under six minutes left in the period, Taphorn deflected a shot past Lamb for his second of the game, which Moose Jaw a 4-0 lead.

Back on the penalty kill in the first four minutes of the third period, the Broncos lead pass from below their goal line went off of the skate of Stepanov and snuck over the Broncos line to give Moose Jaw a 5-0 lead.

Swift Current broke up Adam Evanoff's shutout with a power-play goal from Connor Horning at 9:40, but the Warriors responded only 37 seconds later with a goal from Brook to put the game out of reach.

Evanoff made 23 saves in the win for the Warriors.
