The Moose Jaw Warriors scored six unanswered goals and skated to a 6-2 win over the Swift Current Broncos Friday at Mosaic Place.

In their first game at home since February 8th, the Warriors came out of the gates fast in the opening period.

They were creating turnovers inside the neutral zone and coming up the ice quickly as they went on the attack, creating a wealth opportunity.

Despite Moose Jaw controlling a large portion of the period, the Broncos picked up goals from Kaleb Bulych (5:55) and Cole Nagy (9:01) to take an early lead.

Just shy of two minutes after the Broncos second goal, the Warriors went back on the attack.

Martin Lang created a turnover high along the Broncos left boards and moved the puck down the wall for Garrett Wright.

Wright skated down the wall, and just as he got to the goal line, he tossed the puck to the top of the Broncos crease where Martin Lang scored his 14th goal of the season.

Moose Jaw picked up a power-play with under four minutes left in the period and they used it to their advantage.

Daemon Hunt, who returned to the lineup after missing the last 32 games due to injury, took a shot from the high slot.  The Broncos goalie made the first save but the rebound came to Cade Hayes, who was able to lift the puck over the goal line to tie the game at two.

Swift Current started the second on the power-play, and even though they had attack time, they were not able to convert.

Just passed the five-minute mark of the period, the Broncos were back on the power-play but it was the Warriors who capitalized with a shorthanded goal from Tate Popple to give Moose Jaw a 3-2 lead.

At the midway point of the period, Martin Lang led a rush up the ice on the right-wing and then moved the puck between the Bronco circles where Ryder Korczak scored his 16th of the season.

At 12:10 and with the Warriors on the power-play, the moved the puck around the Broncos zone and eventually setup Cade Hayes in the slot where he one-timed the puck past goalie Isaac Poulter to give Moose Jaw a 5-2 lead.

Six minutes into the third period, Nolan Jones had the puck inside the Moose Jaw zone and tossed it up the ice for Tate Popple along the left side of the neutral zone boards.

Popple drove inside the Broncos line and then as he got to the left circle, snapped a shot past Isaac Poulter to extend the Warriors lead.

Moose Jaw tossed ten shots on net in the third period and 38 in the game and skated to a 6-2 win.

Martin Lang led the Warriors with one goal and four points, Cade Hayes and Tate Popple had two goals each, Ryder Korczak had a goal and two points, and Daemon Hunt had two assists.

The Warriors and Broncos will collide again on Saturday, but this time the scenery will change to the Credit Union Iplex in Swift Current.
