After an emotional game Saturday in Moose Jaw, the Warriors ventured up to Saskatoon on Sunday and picked up a 4-2 win over the Blades.

The line of Ryan Peckford, Brayden Burke, and Justin Almeida got the Warriors off to a strong start. 1:52 in to the game Almeida poked the puck behind the Saskatoon net for Burke who came to the right goal line and made a tape-to-tape pass to Peckford on top of the left crease where he snapped in his 19th of the season.

Saskatoon tied the game at one at 6:55 when Braylon Shmyr picked up a rebound on the side of the Warriors left crease and slid the puck over the goal line.

Moose Jaw went back out in front at 4:59 when Brayden Burke led a rush across the Saskatoon line.  Burke took the puck inside the right circle and looked to feed a trailing Justin Almeida coming through the middle of the ice.  Burke fanned on his pass and when he got the puck back he put a wrist shot past Nolan Maier for his 30th goal.

Burke gave the Warriors a 3-1 lead at 14:52 when he came across the Saskatoon line on an odd-man rush with Almeida.  Burke’s pass to Almeida went off the stick of a Blades defenseman which didn't allow Almeida to get a shot away.  Instead he moved it back to Burke inside the left crease were he poked it over the goal line.

In the third the Warriors had their moments to add to their lead but were unable to pound the puck over the goal line. With just over eight minutes left in regulation the Blades controlled the puck inside the Moose Jaw zone.  They tossed it to the blueline where Jake Kustra stepped in to a slapshot, Josh Paterson was able to deflect the puck and the goal pulled Saskatoon to within one

Inside the final minute of regulation the Blades pulled their goalie for an extra attacker and the gamble backfired as Jayden Halbgewachs sailed the puck in to an empty net for his 59th goal.

Brayden Burke finished with two goals and three points while Adam Evanoff made 32 saves.  Moose Jaw was 0-for-3 on the power play and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill. The win improves their record to 46-12-1-2 and sets a new single season franchise record for wins.

On Monday the Warriors will load their bus and head west for a 2-game road trip to the Central Division.  Tuesday they'll make a stop in Lethbridge and then on Wednesday they're in Cranbrook. The guy’s 4-game in 5-day schedule continues on Friday with another trip to Brandon and then wraps up Saturday at home with a rematch against the Blades.
