It will be a special night for the Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday, Mar. 10 when they host the Swift Current Broncos at Mosaic Place.

It isn’t just the battle between the two East Division rivals for first place, but it will also mark the seventh annual “Snowbirds Night” for the Warriors.

The two major organizations based in the Friendly City have been building their partnership over the past seven seasons and the night will highlight what makes that partnership so special.

On Jan. 29, Brayden Bruke, Branden Klatt and Brody Willms had the time of their lives, flying with the Canadian Forces Snowbirds. The day included going through the pre and post-flight preparations that the air demonstration team goes through each time that they hit the sky.

Then on Feb. 17, the Warriors head to the Red Knight Arena on the 15 Wing Base for a morning practice and they were joined by members of the Snowbirds’ flight squad and crew.

The Warriors will wear special edition jerseys on the night with the theme of this year’s sweater paying tribute to the Canada’s team in the air, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, and Canada’s World Junior team, which including Brett Howden, Kale Clague and Tim Hunter, and won gold at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.

Also as part of the night, the Warriors’ starting goaltender for the night will be wearing a special edition Snowbird themed mask that was designed by Jason Bartziokas.

The mask and jerseys will be auctioned off with the funds raised going to local charities, it will begin when the doors open at 6 p.m. on game night and will close at the start of the third period.  All winning bids will be announced during the third period and the jerseys will be presented to the winners by the players at the end of the game.
