Ahead of Tuesday’s preseason game, the Moose Jaw Warriors signed four more prospects to their WHL standard player agreements.

Brendan Kwiatkowski, Drae Gardiner, Cameron Sterling and Levi Thiessen all officially joined the Warriors’ organization on Tuesday.

Thiessen – five-foot-11, 155 pounds – signing with the Warriors means that four of the team’s top-five picks in this year’s WHL Bantam Draft have now signed with the team.

The Winnipeg product posted 27 goals and 61 points in 30 games with the Bantam AAA Hawks last season. He was selected in the fifth round by the Warriors.

“Raw with lots of potential,” Warriors general manager Alan Millar said of Thiessen. “He has good size, a good stride and a hard shot. He will benefit from development opportunities with the club.”

Gardiner was picked in the eight round of the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft. The five-foot-eight, 170-pound defenceman registered 14 goals and 43 points in 36 games last season with the Calgary Blackhawks in the Alberta Minor Midget AAA Hockey League.

“Smart, puck-moving defenceman with an offensive upside, who plays hard,” said Millar.

Kwiatkowski – six-foot-two, 180 pounds – was listed by the Warriors and had two goals and 16 points in 34 games with Grande Peace in the Alberta Midget AAA Hockey League last season.

“Big, rangy defenceman that’s got better and better,” said Millar. “We like Brenden’s potential to be a solid defenceman.”

Sterling – six-foot, 181 pounds – was a listed player and earned his SPA after a strong training camp with the Warriors.

The Calgary product had 28 goals and 63 points in 36 games as a teammate of Gardiner with the Blackhawks last season.

“Cameron had a great year and a very good training camp,” said Millar. “He has good puck skills and can score.”

All four players made their WHL Preseason debuts with the Warriors on Tuesday night against the Swift Current Broncos.
