The Prince George Cougars won the Western Hockey League's Bantam Draft Lottery Wednesday morning, meaning they will pick second overall and the Moose Jaw Warriors will draft third overall.

The Swift Current Broncos had the lowest record in the WHL last season, but a trade sent that selection to the Regina Pats, so they will draft first overall, barring trades. The Warriors had the second lowest record in the WHL, but it was fourth-lowest ranked Price George's ball that came out of the drum.

Forward Connor Bedard from North Vancouver, B.C. has already been granted exceptional status by the WHL, making him the first player in the bantam draft era to be allowed to play full time in the league at age 15.

The draft also has a couple of highly rated forward prospects with the Saskatoon Contacts in Brayden Yager and Riley Heidt, who both played fill time in midget at age 14 and were near the top of the team's scoring race.

The draft will take place April 22 online.
