So far this season, teams across the Western Hockey League have been wearing Don Cherry themed jerseys all in an effort to promote organ donations.

The Moose Jaw Warriors will be joining up with the WHL Suits Up with Don Cherry to Promote Organ Donation campaign this Saturday as they wear a Don Cherry-inspired Warrior jersey for their game against the Vancouver Giants at Mosaic Place.

“We are proud to partner with Don Cherry and his family in promoting organ donation and support for local Kidney Foundations,” commented WHL Commissioner Ron Robison in a media release.

The jerseys will be auctioned off during Saturday’s game with the proceeds going to the Saskatchewan branch of the Kidney Foundation of Canada.  The auction will begin when the doors open at 6 p.m. and close at the start of the third period.  The players will present the jerseys to the winning bidder after the game.

As part of the night, the Warriors will also be handing out Don Cherry bobbleheads along with limited edition Don Cherry Upper Deck trading cards.

The Warriors return to game action on Thursday when they host the Edmonton Oil Kings before welcoming in the Giants on Saturday to close out a seven-game homestand.
