It took a bit for things to click up front for the Moose Jaw Warriors, but things have really come together over the past three games, all wins.

20-year-old forward Tristin Langan had a hat trick and four points in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Swift Current Broncos at Mosaic Place, he currently leads the team with five goals and 12 points through six games this season.

Langan's centre, Justin Almeida, had three assists on Saturday, giving him three goals and 11 points in six games and they were joined by Ryan Peckford throughout the weekend, he scored his first goal and had two points against Swift Current.

"Just being in the league for so many years, all of us, and knowing how to play right and supporting each all over the ice and we've practiced a lot last season, so it's nice when you know what they're going to do and they know what I'm going to do, the chemistry is coming together," said Almeida after Saturday's win.

With 232 goals and 628 points gone from last year's team, there were questions entering the season about where the offence would come from for the Warriors. The top line, with three veteran players, has shown that they're able to carry the load.

"It's like a snowball effect, you start playing good and it keeps going and we've just got to keep that going into next weekend," said Almeida.

Langan set a career-high with 16 goals and 42 points in 70 games last season for the Warriors. The overage forward has taken advantage of his increased opportunity this season.

Warriors head coach Tim Hunter said Langan is scoring goals where he needs to, on top of the crease, "That's why he's here as a 20-year-old, he's really come on from the last half of last year, he became a real important player for us and he's doing a great job for us and I hope it continues."

Hunter Wants More from Evanoff

Adam Evanoff picked up his first win of the season on Saturday, but Hunter is looking for more out of his 18-year-old netminder.

Evanoff allowed three goals on nine shots in the third period of the Warriors' 5-4 win over the Broncos. Hunter wants to see Evanoff stay focused through the full 60 minutes of a game.

"We've got to finish the deal, everyone is culpable in it and it starts with the goalie, he's let a lot of goals in the last 3-4 minutes of two hockey games in a row that he's played in, he's got to be better, give us a chance and not put us in that position, so nobody escapes the criticism of something like that."

Evanoff is 1-2-1-0 through four games to start the season, he has a 3.52 goals against average and a .891 save percentage.

Hunter said Evanoff is continuing to grow as a goalie and will learn from these situations.

"He's a young goalie and still learning and that's why we have a 20-year-old goalie, so everyone has to earn their way here," said Hunter.

"It's unfortunate that we finished that way, but it's two points, we're above .500 and it was a good weekend beating Brandon and this team."

The Warriors will return to the ice coming up on Friday when they travel to Brandon to take on the Wheat Kings. Moose Jaw is 1-1-1-0 against Brandon this season.

On Saturday, the Warriors welcome in the Spokane Chiefs for their biennial trip to Mosaic Place.
