Prince Albert Raiders 20-year-old goalie Max Paddock frustrated the Moose Jaw Thursday as he made 45 saves to hand the Warriors a 2-0 loss at the Subway WHL Hub in Regina

Moose Jaw was successful in establishing a fast pace early in the opening period.  They were quick up the ice and getting shots off the rush as well as chances from inside home plate.

At one point, the Warriors were outshooting Prince Albert 10-1, but the Raiders were able to weather the storm due to the solid play of goaltender Max Paddock.

In the second half of the first period, the Raiders found their game and were able to generate several quality scoring chances.  With 2:19 left in the frame, Prince Albert was rewarded with a Michael Horon goal to take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

Throughout the second period, the Warriors kept pounding the puck at the Prince Albert net.  They outshot the Raiders 11-8 in the frame and had a 35-20 advantage after two periods, but they still were not able to pound the puck over the goal line.

Instead, Prince Albert added to their lead with a goal from Eric Pearce at 16:37 to take a 2-0 lead heading to the third period.

Moose Jaw did everything they could for the rest of the game to get their offence going.  They tossed another ten shots on the net throughout the third period but they were not able to solve Max Paddock.

They finished 0-for-4 on the power-play and 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.

Looking ahead, the Warriors have Friday off to get ready for a Saturday afternoon clash with the Brandon Wheat Kings.  Coverage on Country 100 will begin with the PreGame Show at 3:40 pm.

The final week of the Subway WHL Hub begins on Monday, April 19th with a rematch against the Raiders at 8:00 pm.
