Nobody in the Western Hockey League could match Brayden Tracey during the month of February.

Tracey posted 26 points in 13 games during the month as he earned WHL Player of the Month honours on Thursday.

"It's surreal to be recognized by the league like that, I'm happy to get that award, but there's still lots of the season left here," said Tracey after practice on Thursday.

Tracey is the first Warrior to take home a monthly award this season.

The 17-year-old rookie scored 12 goals and added 14 assists over the course of the month, recording a point in 11 out of 13 games, including eight multi-point games.

Tracey had a hat trick and his first career four-point game to open the month and he would go on to post five three-point games and two two-point games over the course of February.

"Our line was clicking pretty well," said Tracey. "[Tristin Langan] is a very high-skilled forward that works really hard and same with [Justin Almeida], so us three on a line, we were clicking very well this month."

In 59 games this season, Tracey leads all rookies in the WHL and Canadian Hockey League with 31 goals and 73 points. He also leads the WHL with 10 game-winning goals.

Tracey and the Warriors return to the ice on Friday night to host the Lethbridge Hurricanes at Mosaic Place.
