The Original 16 Cash League went into the Christmas break with seven games hitting the ice at the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre on Wednesday.

In the big game of the night, Penny Barker and company improved to 10-1 with an 8-6 win over over Stan Barnsley, who dropped to 8-3 with the loss.

Barker scored three in the seventh and then stole one in the eighth to pick up the win after trailing 5-3 through four ends.

Barker remains in top spot in the league, while Barnsley falls to third.

Both Joel Jordison and Warren Marcotte were able to keep pace with Barker on Wednesday as they both improved to 9-2 with wins in their respective games.

Jordison scored a 9-2 win over Joe Gunnis (4-7), while Marcotte picked up a 9-4 win over Patrick Ackerman (2-9).

In other action on Wednesday, Wade Gary (4-8) won 6-4 over Lorraine Arguin (6-5); Donna Ackerman (4-7) beat Barb Wallace (2-10), 7-5; Bob Desjarlais (7-4) rolled to a 7-1 win over Ryan Wenarchuk (7-5); Murray Stroeder (7-5); won 7-3 over Ben Gamble (5-6).

The league will be back on the ice next Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
