The Moose Jaw Atom A Warriors have had a busy past three days as they hit the ice for three games in the Hockey Regina League.

The Warriors came out of the busy stretch after the holiday break with one win and two losses.

In the first game on Saturday, the Warriors skated to an 8-0 to the Lions in Lumsden.

The Warriors would bounce back on Sunday however, as they skated past the Regina Panthers, 4-3, at the Balfour Arena in the Queen City. That would be the first win of the season for the Warriors.

Moose Jaw couldn’t carry the momentum over to Monday’s game though as they would fall 4-0 to the Regina Tigers at the Cooperators Centre.

The Warriors’ record sits at 1-13-1 on the year. They’re right back on the ice on Wednesday when they travel to Balgonie to face the Prairie Storm Thunder at 6:30 p.m.

The Moose Jaw Peewee AA Warriors hit the road to Estevan for a pair of games against the Bruins in the South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League over the weekend.

The Warriors put up a good fight in both games, but couldn’t come away with a win, falling 4-2 on Saturday and 7-6 on Sunday.

Rowan Calvert had a goal and two points in Saturday’s loss, while Curtis Smith scored the other marker for Moose Jaw.

On Sunday, both teams came out firing and sat tied at 5-5 after the first period.

Estevan scored four goals in the opening 5:30 of the game to take the early lead, but Moose Jaw struck right back with a pair from Calvert and another from Liam Fitzpatrick only 1:48 apart to cut the lead to 4-3.

After the Bruins went back in front 5-3, Calvert completed the hat trick with 4:18 left in the first and Brendan Gerbrandt tied the game up heading into the break.

Estevan scored a power play goal in the second to take a 6-5 lead heading into the third.  Fitzpatrick’s second of the game tied things up midway through the third, but the Bruins found the winner with 1:23 to go in the game.

Haydn Hudyma and Cole King picked up two assists each in the loss for Moose Jaw.

The Warriors are 4-12-2 on the year, which has them tied with Estevan for fourth in the league. Moose Jaw returns to the ice on Friday to host the Swift Current Broncos at the Red Knight Arena, puck drops at 7:15 p.m.

The Moose Jaw Midget AA Warriors dropped a tight game against the Regina Capitals on Sunday, losing 3-1, in the South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League.

Special teams proved costly for the Warriors in the loss as they allowed the Capitals to scored on a pair of power plays, while going 0-for-5 on their own man advantages.

Cooper Cole scored the lone goal for Moose Jaw, which tied the game at 1-1 early in the second period, but they trailed 2-1 after two and Regina sealed the win with a late third period goal.

Warriors goalie Jacob Winowich turned away 46 shots in the loss, as Moose Jaw was out-shot 49-20.

The loss drops the Warriors’ record to 5-15-2 on the year. They will be back on the ice this weekend as they host the Estevan Bruins on Saturday and Sunday.

The Moose Jaw Bantam AA Warriors lost a 7-1 game to the Regina Pat Blues on Saturday in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League at Mosaic Place.

Evan Osberg scored the lone goal for Moose Jaw late in the third period to break up the shutout for the Pat Blues.

Moose Jaw remains winless on the year at 0-20-0. They host the North East Wolfpack on Friday night at the Kinsmen Arena, puck drops at 7:30 p.m. The Warriors will then travel to Prince Albert to face the Pirates on Saturday.

In Hockey Regina League action on Friday, the Midget A Warriors lost 4-0 to the Regina Cougars.

The loss puts Moose Jaw’s record at 0-11-0 on the year. They’re back at it on Thursday to host Cupar at the Bert Hunt Arena at 7:15 p.m.

The Bantam A Warriors dropped an 11-2 game to the Regina Blues on Monday, putting their record at 2-12-1.  They will travel to Regina to face the Royals on Wednesday and then head back to the Queen City to meet the Shamrocks on Thursday.
