The Moose Jaw Bantam A Warriors finished off a busy three-in-three weekend with their first win of the 2018-19 season.

After falling in two road games to open the weekend, the Warriors returned home on Sunday and skated to a 6-1 victory over the Prairie Storm Lightning at Red Knight Arena.

The win snapped a 21-game winless skid for the Warriors, who are now 1-20-1 this season in the Hockey Regina League.

Jacob King led the Warriors with two goals and three points in Sunday's win, while Lucas Salikin and Carter Michaluk picked up a goal and two points each. Ashton Glova and Jacob Michelson also chipped in with two assists each.

Moose Jaw had lost 4-1 to the Cougars in Regina on Friday and dropped an 8-3 game to the Lumsden Lions on Saturday.

The Warriors return to the ice on Friday to host the Prairie Storm Thunder at the Red Knight Arena.

In other Hockey Regina action over the weekend: 

The Atom A Red Warriors picked up a pair of wins, beating the Regina Buffaloes, 8-5, on Saturday and then picking up a 4-3 victory over the Regina Royals on Sunday. 

The Red Warriors are now second in the league with a 10-4-1 record.

The Atom A Warriors also picked up a 3-0 win over the Regina Tigers on Saturday to improve to 6-11-0 this season.

The Peewee A Warriors kept their winning ways going as they won 6-3 over the Regina Mustangs on Saturday, which gives them a 16-0-1 record this season. Trehvan McMorris had three assists, while Cole King and Tayden Hardwicke scored twice each in the win.

The Moose Jaw Peewee AA Warriors picked up a split of their two weekend games in the Saskatchewan AA Hockey League.

The Warriors went into Estevan and knocked off the Bruins 4-1 on Saturday and then returned home to fall 8-1 to the Melville Millionaires on Sunday.

Bryce Boughen and Nolan Kearns had a goal and two points each in the win, while Gage Nagel and Dylan Duzan also scored for Moose Jaw.

Brooklyn Nimegeers had the Warriors' lone goal in Sunday’s loss.

The Warriors are now 6-15-3 on the season. They finish the regular season on Feb. 15 against the Swift Current Broncos.

The Bantam AA Warriors dropped three games over the weekend, falling 10-0 in Estevan on Friday, 8-3 in Weyburn on Saturday and then dropping a 13-2 game to the Wings on Sunday in Moose Jaw.

The Moose Jaw Peewee Mavericks skated to a 3-1 win over the Ochapowace Thunder at the Red Knight Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The win improves the Mavericks' record to 13-4-1 this season in the Saskatchewan Female Hockey League.

Jesse Mielke scored all three goals for Moose Jaw in the win, while Tianna Wiebe picked up two assists.

The Mavericks are back on the ice this Saturday and Sunday against the Southwest Cyclones in Gull Lake.

Two Moose Jaw Atom 'B' teams had successful weekends at tournaments.

The Atom B Knights won the Davidson Atom B Tournament on Sunday, going 2-0-1 over their three games.

The Knights won 5-2 over Davidson with Colton Flanagan scoring a hat trick in the win. They also picked up a 3-1 win over the Regina Panthers with Rylan Taylor scoring twice and Flanagan picking up a goal and two points.

Jayce Finiak had a shutout in the Knights’ 0-0 tie against Lumsden.

The Atom B Winterhawks came away with a bronze medal at the Dundurn Tournament on Saturday.

The Winterhawks knocked off the Warman Wildcats 5-4 in the third-place game.

Keaton Weinheimer led the way with a hat trick in the win, while Drayson Silbernagel and Hunter Wagner picked up one goal each.

The Winterhawks opened the tournament with a 10-3 win over Dundurn. Silbernagel led the charge in the win with four goals.

Their only loss came to Lloydminster as they fell 7-0.
