Over 100 powerlifters from across B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba will be in Moose Jaw on Saturday to compete at the Western Canadian Powerlifting Championships.

Six local lifters will be taking place in the championship at the Golden Nugget throughout the day.

The first session will feature Robert Rooney and Aaron Ziffle in the 93-kilogram classc open category, while Dustin Fraser will be taking part in the 93kg classic junior category at the same time.  They get underway at 9:00am on Saturday morning.

The second session starts at 1:30pm and has Brianna Walz, a local Moose Javian currently living in Saskatoon, competing in the 72kg classic sub-junior category.  Pam Windrow will take part in the 84+kg classic open category at the same time.

The last session of the day goes at 5:00pm.  There will also be a qualifying session after the competition with Amee Mawson taking part in her first powerlifting competition in the 84kg classic open division.  Rory Windrow will be lifting at the same time in the 93kg classic open category.

They get underway at 8:00pm.
