Ten teams took part in a U14 B girls' fastball tournament over the weekend at Optimist Park here in Moose Jaw, with the Weyburn Wild coming out on top.

The Wild and the Tisdale Riverdogs finished first and second in their pool, while the Swift Current Sonics and the Battleford Bandits finished at the top of the second pool.

Tisdale would defeat Swift Current 13-3 in one of the semifinals, while the Wild defeated the Bandits 11-4. The Wild would go on to defeat the Riverdogs 11-7 in the final.

The Moose Jaw U14 B Ice finished the tournament with a record of 1-3.

They opened the tournament with games against the Regina Royals and the Tisdale Riverdogs. Both games went only five innings, with Regina winning 12-4 and Tisdale winning 15-7.

The girls bounced back in their third game, defeated the Twin City Angels 17-2, handing the Angels one of their biggest losses in the tournament.

The Ice finished the tournament dropping a 20-12 decision to the Weyburn Wild.

Meanwhile, the U12 A Ice played a division up to take part in the tournament, finishing with a 2-4 record.

They defeated the Lumsden Cubs through the mercy rule, before losing to the Battleford Bandits.

The U12 A Ice was under the lights for their third game, edging out the Gravelbourg Lightning 12-11.

The girls were able to keep their final game close against the Swift Current Sonics, but they couldn't come away with the win.

The next action for the U12 A Ice will be provincials this weekend in Regina.
