Jett Woo accomplished a big lifetime goal on Saturday, as he inked a three-year entry-level contract with the Vancouver Canucks.

The Moose Jaw Warriors defenceman put together a massive season and was rewarded for his efforts after originally being selected in the second round, 37th overall, by the Canucks in the 2018 NHL Draft.

"It's something that's every kid's dream and after draft night and going through those motions, this was the next thing on my mind, so for it to happen, it's exciting," said Woo after he posted two assists in the Warriors' regular-season finale win on Saturday.

"The biggest thing for me was just focus on hockey, focus on my team and not let it get to my head, so that's what I did and all the hard work was put in and I just had to sign a few papers."

Woo is the second 18-year-old defenceman signed by the Canucks recently after they signed first-round pick Quinn Hughes earlier this month.

The Winnipeg product credited the Warriors with providing him the opportunity to grow and earn that contract, "A lot of credit goes to this team and this organization for putting me in spots where I'm having success," said Woo.

Woo has taken his steady defensive game and added a big year offensively, finishing with 12 goals and 64 points in 62 games for the Warriors. Woo 112 career points in 178 WHL games.

"I knew going into this season that we were going to have a bit of a younger team and my role as a leader was going to change, and it did, but as the season went on, players started doing well and getting comfortable, I started doing more well on the score sheet and I just rolled with it," said Woo. "A lot of credit goes to the other players on the ice and the coaching staff for putting me in those positions, so it's been a great year and I'm looking forward to playoffs."

Woo is the third Warrior, joining Justin Almeida with Pittsburgh and Josh Brook with Montreal, to sign an NHL contract this season.
