Three in the seventh and two more in the eighth helped put Moose Jaw’s Marie Wright and Team Saskatchewan into the gold medal game.

Saskatchewan scored a 6-3 win over Newfoundland and Labrador  in the semifinal on Saturday night at the 2018 Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championship in Leduc, Alba.

Team Sask will be going up against Manitoba in Sunday’s championship game after they knocked off British Columbia, 10-3, in the other semifinal.

Coming into the game with a perfect 9-0 record in the round robin, Saskatchewan opened with a pair of blanks to keep the hammer before opening the scoring with a single in the third.

Newfoundland struck back with points in three straight ends, scoring a single in the fourth and then stealing one in the fifth and sixth ends each to go in front 3-1.

Saskatchewan came all the way back in one end with three in the seventh to move up by one and then they sealed the win with a steal of two in the eighth to advance into the national title game.

Wright and Saskatchewan will take on her Paralympic teammate Dennis Thiessen and Manitoba at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday in the gold medal game. Newfounland goes up against B.C. in the bronze medal game on Sunday as well.
