Coming off a Paralympic bronze medal, Moose Jaw’s Marie Wright remains hot on the pebbled ice at the 2018 Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championship in Leduc, AB.

Wright and Team Saskatchewan pushed their record to 5-0 with a 10-4 win over British Columbia on Wednesday afternoon and then a 5-1 win over Northern Ontario in the night draw.

The afternoon match-up with B.C. saw Saskatchewan trail 4-2 after five ends. B.C. scored three in the fifth to jump in front after a low scoring first four ends, but Saskatchewan wouldn’t go down without a fight and they responded with four in the sixth to take a 6-4 lead.

Saskatchewan would then steal four more in the seventh to seal the win.

In the night draw against Northern Ontario, Saskatchewan scored early and late. They picked up a single in the first and a steal of one in the second and led 2-1 after four ends.

Team Sask would then score in three straight ends to pick-up a four-point win over Northern Ontario.

Wright and Saskatchewan will be back on the ice for two more games coming up on Thursday. They take on host Alberta (3-2) at 1:30 p.m. and then battle Nova Scotia (3-2) at 6:30 p.m.
