The jets at 15 Wing were moving a little slower than usual on Friday afternoon.

Members and personnel took turns breaking into teams of four, attempting to pull a CT-155 Hawk jet 25 metres as fast as possible, to raise money.

The Hawk Pull was just a piece of fundraising efforts by the people out at 15 Wing on Friday.

Wing Commander, Colonel Dennis O'Reilly, said they were excited to be collecting money for charity, but there was also other benefits to the exercise.

"This is a big part of what we do, we need to be fit to fly...We need to maintain a high level of concentration, focus and decision making. A healthy body, healthy mind is key to our ability to conduct operations."

He noted that pulling an aircraft with just yourself and three other friends is as difficult as it sounds.

"Towing a Hawk kind of connects to the root of what we do, which is flying aircrafts. It's fun, it's not something you would get to do everyday. It's heavier than it looks, it's about 9-10 thousand pounds, depending on if it has fuel in it or not."

All the funds raised goes towards their charitable workplace campaign they began a month ago.
