All the glitz and glam that can possibly fit onto one stage is now over at Peacock Collegiate High School.

The 60th annual Festival of Dance has taken over the local high school and will see almost 800 dances cross the stages from Wednesday through Sunday.

"It's a combination of youth and talent of Saskatchewan coming to our program to show off their talents of dance in all genres like tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, acro, musical theatre, contemporary, modern, you name it and we put it on for the viewing pleasure," explained Jennifer Nant, President of the Dance Festival.

This competition is one the longest running in this area and also prides themselves on the dollar amount that they give back to the participants by the end of the weekend.

"They've spent a lot of money, time and effort in their dance career, we like to show it off for them. We also are one of the top competitions that pay out, last year we paid close to $37,000 back to the dancers. That can be put into their dance training, for us that's very important to help the education of dance come across," said Nant.

The only way to believe the high quality and calibre of dancing is to see it for yourself according to Nant, which is why the competition is open to the public.

"For people who don't know what a dance competition is come out and see it and see what these youth actually go through in a year to put on a show for us."

There are multiple sessions throughout the day at 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm, 5 pm and 7 pm.
