Now that life is returning to normal this summer, all of the local in-person events are coming back in full swing and this includes the summer and fall events at Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village and Museum.

The museum is south of Moose Jaw off Highway 2 just after the 15 Wing base.

“This year we are open for seven days a week. Monday to Saturday from 12 pm to 5 pm and Sundays from 12 pm to 6 pm,” says Hunter Nixon, the Office Manager at the museum.

The museum has two events coming up in June.

On June 4th, it’s bringing back its Spring Fling, the old-fashioned show and shine car show that features cars from the 1980s and earlier. There will also be door prizes, vendors, a concession, and a trivia walk.

On June 26th, it’s hosting its outdoor flea market and swap meet. Visitors will be able to buy car parts and other antique items. There will also be vendors and a concession stand.

Then fast forward to July, on the 17th the museum is having a Family Day where families are invited to participate in games, tractor and barrel game rides, and indulge in some treats.

The Threshing Bee is coming back on September 10th and 11th with demonstrations of traditional farming, blacksmiths, and quilting. Anyone looking to attend this event can buy their tickets beforehand by calling the museum at 306-693-7315.

Then once October begins, the museum will be busy preparing for its Haunted Museum on the 27th. Visitors will get an exclusive tour of the museum and witness 6-12 scare setups. There will be hot chocolate and a canteen available at the event.

The prices to attend all of these events are the same as general admission to the museum on a normal day.

“Adults get in for $10, seniors and students with a student card will get in for $8, children 6 and up can get in for $5, and then children 5 and under get in for free,” says Nixon.
