A hazy start to the week in the southern Saskatchewan, as smoke from wildfires in British Columbia has moved into the region.

The result is an increasing deterioration of air quality across the entire south, and nearly the entire province - an issue that increases as wildfires continue to run rampant across B.C.

Smoke inhalation is a growing concern, and something Environment Canada is advising the public to be aware of. Symptoms of smoke inhalation are most commonly increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches or shortness of breath. Children, seniors, and those with cardiovascular or lung disease, such as asthma, are especially at risk.

Here is the latest on the air quality statement, issued mid-afternoon Monday.
