The photo radar statistics label it as one of the worst stretches of roads in the province and now it's getting a second camera.  The TransCanada Highway and 9th Avenue intersection is a trouble area with over 1900 speeding violations being recorded in October by the speed enforcement camera.

Director of Traffic Safety Promotion, Shannon Ell says those statistics have SGI concerned, especially when they've tried a number of things to get people to slow down.

"We've tried all sorts of things. We worked with the Ministry of Highways to put some pavement markings to give the impression that you need to slow down, shortly after the pilot started we had changeable message signs that tell people that there's a camera there."

"I'm not sure... we're not too sure why that particular location has more speeders that our other ones." said Ell, eluding to the fact that the camera in Moose Jaw had more violations recorded that the other three high speed camera in the province combined for the month of October.

The new camera is coming from the east side of Regina where construction has slowed traffic to a point where camera enforcement is no longer needed.  So now there will be a camera facing west and east on the north side of Moose Jaw.
