As of 10 am Monday, residents in Assiniboia and surrounding communities were given the green light to use their tap water again.

According to the town's website, the Water Security Agency said people are now able to consume their water without boiling it first as the precautionary boil water advisory has been lifted.

"The Water Security Agency (WSA) is satisfied with negative bacteriological sampling from samples that have been collected from the water distribution system following the recent PDWA."

Early Thursday morning the restriction was implemented after officials said there was "a failure to achieve required disinfection."
