The stars of Rogers Hometown Hockey were given a hometown touch-up before the national television cameras were turned on in Moose Jaw this past weekend.

Moose Jaw's Caitlyn Dixon was hired to provide makeup and grooming for Sportsnet personalities Ron MacLean and Tara Slone before their broadcast from downtown Sunday night.

It's just the latest professional accomplishment for the local makeup artist.  In 2015 she won the Canadian portion of the L'Oreal Paris "The Brush" contest, and finished in the top 3 internationally.

Since then, Dixon has been provided other, high-profile, opportunities, like doing makeup for movie star/former "Saturday Night Live" performer Jason Sudeikis at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival.

"It was very cool," Dixon said of the assignment. "He was a really nice guy, and very relaxed."

Dixon says the Hometown Hockey job was not only special for her, but for her family.  It was made even more special by Ron MacLean.

"He was such a beautiful, genuine person," Dixon said of the Hockey Night in Canada host. "I told him 'my dad and stepdad are so thrilled I'm doing this with you today' and he said 'what are their names....I'll sign something for them'."

Ron MacLean signed copies of his book for Caitlyn's dad Jim, and stepdad Scott

"He came up to me with two books and he signed them, and wrote them each a message...and also wrote 'thanks for the great makeup'."

Dixon says she's now back in Moose Jaw "for a while" and is working as a freelancer.  You can contact her by clicking here.
