Each month the Canadian Blood Services makes a stop in the Friendly City, where residents are invited to come out and donate blood.

However, they're hoping people will be in the spirit of giving and are therefore hosting a second clinic in December.

"Normally we're just in Moose Jaw the first Tuesday of every month, but this month we are holding an extra clinic," said Territory Manager for Southern Saskatchewan, Katherine Wasylynka. "Moose Jaw has always been such get supporters, and we find collections are a little bit difficult over the holidays as people are always busy and it's not top of mind... so we thought we'd try out an extra clinic in Moose Jaw and collect some more blood."

"We will be in Moose Jaw for our second clinic in December on Boxing Day, 2-7pm at the Exhibition Grounds in the Golden Nugget building. We are sitting at about half booked for that clinic right now, and you can book your appointment at blood.ca or call the 1-888-2-donate number and book your life saving appointment. We also take walk-ins, so feel free to drop in."

Wasylynka detailed what the first steps are if you have made a donation before.

"Visit our website and just go through our A, B, C's of eligibility and make sure you are eligible to donate. Make sure that day that you are well hydrated and that you've had a good meal. Quite honestly, it's the easiest thing and it's the most direct way that you can give back to someone in your community."

She said that people with all blood types are welcome, especially those with O-negative, as its considered a universal blood type.
