The provincial government's challenge to the carbon tax has been denied by the Saskatchewan Court of Appeals and reaction is somewhat mixed.

Judges voted 3-2 against the Saskatchewan government challenge of the tax.

On Twitter, premier Scott Moe vowed he would continue the fight against the tax, and promised he would appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada.

The Saskatchewan chapter of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business isn't happy with the ruling. In a media release, they said the tax is deeply unfair to small business, which they say will absorb a majority of the new costs.

The Canadian Wheat Growers Association said in a media release they are disappointed in the ruling.

But the Canadian Public Health Association applauds the ruling, saying that climate change is a critical public health issue and it threatens to undermine the past century of gains for population health in Canada and around the world.
