We're almost halfway through December and only a short time away from the deadline for the Chamber of Commerce's Citizen and Group of the Year Awards.

If you know someone who has given their time and effort towards the betterment of Moose Jaw and community, the Chamber is looking for these people to be nominated and submitted before the 31st.

The major focus of these awards is to celebrate individual and group efforts from January 1st 2017, to December 31st 2017.

"Certainly that would be a fantastic way to give a gift of your time during a very busy time of year. So certainly we do need to have some more nominations," said Greg Mcintyre, President of the Chamber of Commerce. "If somebody's come into your mind, you know,  take the 5 minutes right now and call over to the Chamber and let Heather and Rob know and we'll do the rest."

You can submit nominations by heading over to the Chamber's website and filling out a form, messaging their Facebook page, or by calling the Chamber at (306) 692 6414.

They need these nominations to come in. As of now, only six forms have been submitted, compared to last year's 17.

"Canada and Saskatchewan, certainly in Moose Jaw, we are all probably among the richest 10 percent in the world," added Mcintyre. "You know, we got a lot to be grateful for, so if we can capture that spirit and even just think of the ones among us that are giving that gratitude back with their time, by all means, please put someone's name forward or that group's name forward and let's celebrate those among us with high honours."
