It's getting difficult to count the various ways Tuesday's major power outage impacted residents.

The lights turned off in the central and southeast areas of the province, where the outage lasted locally for six hours. With that in mind, City officials are making sure they're taking the proper precautions as we're not completely out of the woods yet.

The City sent out a release late Wednesday afternoon stating that due to recent events they will be monitoring the water supply at the Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant (BPWTP) for the foreseeable future.

"Though the City’s water supply comes from the BPWTP, the City advises residents that there is no immediate concern of water-service disruption. At present, the City of Moose Jaw’s reservoirs contains a 48-hour water supply."

City officials have also been in contact with SaskPower and the BPWTP, with hopes that the outages will be put to rest on Wednesday evening. However, there will be a meeting Thursday morning during which the City is expected to reevaluate the situation and determine if more action is needed from there.

Residents who have any concerns are encouraged to contact the City's Engineering Department.
