With many rural communities enacting a fire ban within their area, the Moose Jaw Fire Department has now declared that those in city limits of Moose Jaw are on the list.

The ban was issued due to the long drought we have been experiencing lately and with no rain in the foreseeable future, fire fighters enacted the temporary ban.

They are reminding residents that this pertains to fire places, fire pits or any sort of open flame. They are also stressing for people not to light fireworks without a permit, at any time not just during a ban.

Residents are also reminded to dispose of cigarettes in a proper manner, or any other flammable materials.

This fire ban is in effect until the Fire Department has declared we are safe.
