The City of Moose Jaw would like to everyone who participated in their recent Trails Survey, which circulated between September 13 and 27.

Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Moose Jaw, Derek Blais.

"We were very happy with the responses that we got. We have 449 households that were represented, which totalled 963 people. We were looking for a lot of feedback just in regards to the trail system, signage, surfacing, amenities, benches, garbage cans, feedback from all different areas".

"It's very nice to see the amount of feedback that was provided, with that they were able to provide suggestions on improvements for the future which we can build into our master plan and compare with our own inventory. A lot of the responses were nothing overly surprising to us, but to have that backing from the community is an important part of it."

The Trails Master Plan is expected to be completed next year, which they hope to create a connected and accessible city-wide trail network.

"G.I.S (Geographic Information System) marked every bench, every garbage can, every sign, every crossing, and we've identified gaps internally. The second part of it was the public consultation piece where we sent out the survey, got feedback from the public, and now we're going to put these two items together and create a master plan for our trail system."
