A Moose Jaw man pleaded guilty to possession of a prohibited weapon without having a licence, as well as possession of two boxes of ammunition and a breach of conditions.

Nicholas Connolly was sentenced to four months of jail time for the possession of a weapon charge,  and a month of consecutive jail for the boxes of ammunition, contrary to his undertaking, in Moose Jaw provincial court on Wednesday.

Connolly was in remand and was given credit for two months, leaving three months of jail time to serve.

Crown Prosecutor Rob Parker said Moose Jaw police executed a search warrant in October, where they found Connolly in possession of a Ruger Blackhawk handgun when he didn't have a licence for it.
