The province announced that COVID-19 deaths have doubled in Saskatchewan in the past week. 

The latest COVID-19 report shows the data from February 6th to the 12th.

There were 42 deaths in the province last week, compared to 22 deaths the previous week.

410 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 with 33 people in the ICU, 181 are hospitalized for a COVID-19 related Illness, 221 are in for incidental COVID-19 infections, and 8 are undetermined.

There are 2,522 new laboratory-confirmed cases.

437 new cases were found in the South (including 124 in the South Central zone), 84 new cases in the Far North, 479 new cases in the North, 603 new cases in the Saskatoon area, 318 new cases in the Central area, 501 new cases in the Regina area, 100 new cases pending residence information.

There were 242 new lineage results reported this week. Of the 242 variants of concern (VOCs) identified by whole genome sequencing, 99.6% were Omicron.

22 confirmed new COVID-19 outbreaks were reported in long-term care and care home settings this week.
