Brennen Ronovsky has been around recreation and sports in whole life. He's working with YMCAs, the Red Deer Special Olympics and as a rec. therapy aide in Didsbury, Alta. working with seniors.

Ronovsky is a former recreation director for the Town of Eatonia and director of parks and recreation for Fox Creek, Alta.

His job at the district for culture, recreation and sport will entail him to work with recreation directors and boards with training programs and networking. He will also work with towns that want to set up museums or current museums that are looking for grants to fund their programs.

"It's basically all about trying to help the community develop in a positive manner and making sure we provide them the resources that they need to access and fund a lot of their programs," Ronovsky said.

He went on to talk about what he is looking forward to the most in his new role.

"I was the recreation director for the Town of Eatonia so I'm really looking forward to now being able to be on the other side of things, so being the person that gets to go into the communities and work with these recreation directors or these people who work on rec. boards and be able to provide them services to help their town succeed. So that's what I'm most excited for," he said.
