Just days after Moose Jaw hosted it's second Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Today is the 11th anniversary of the referendum that ultimately allowed Mosaic Place, where the Scotties was hosted, to be built.

Since the opening of Mosaic place has hosted shows like Marianas Trench, Carrie Underwood, Backstreet Boys, Larry the Cable Guy, and so much more.

Councilor Heather Eby commented on Mosaic Place and the recent Scotties.

"Mosaic Place is a gem. Every time we host an event like this it's even better because the people who have done it before know how to use our building better and better every time. TSN is already asking 'when can we come back?', so we built it and they want to come."

In advance of the vote that changed it all, Then-Mayor Dale McBain addressed the public on February 24th, 2009.

"On February 25th, if the citizens of Moose Jaw in their wisdom decide to turn this project down because they don't like the location or they don't like some aspect. What they are really saying is, they are turning down $23 million from the federal and provincial governments. That money will go to another city."

Despite the fact that a recent show had to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, Mosaic Place still has plenty of future shows on the horizon
