Moose Jaw's Evans family is ready to build on their lemonade stand success.

Nine-year old Cassidy Evans was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis in 2012, and since then her family has operated "Cassidy's Lemonade Stand" - an annual sale of fresh-squeezed lemonade in support of CF research.

Since 2012 (the family was in Saskatoon but moved to Moose Jaw in 2014) Cassidy's Lemonade stand has raised over $30,000, and now they're looking to expand.

Cassidy and her mom Kimberly were guest speakers Tuesday at the Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce's President's luncheon at the Heritage Inn, where Kimberly explained they have incorporated the lemonade stand into a non-profit group called "Celebrating Simple Life."

"With that we have the lemonade stand and we have the lemonade stand, as well as our 'SOAR for Cystic Fibrosis' gala event we have planned for next May," explained Evans. She said the 'SOAR' event at the Moose Jaw Municipal Airport will feature live music, aerobatics by Moose Jaw pilot Brent Handy, and other surprises.

Kimberly also said they're preparing to take the lemonade stand on the road.

"Instead of just having a one weekend event, we want to go to different events and be involved in different communities across Saskatchewan in order to build awareness for Cystic Fibrosis," she explained, adding that they will have a lemonade stand set up at the Help for Heroes Airshow at the Municipal Airport this Saturday (September 16).
